RETREAT TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

Please note that because our Yoga Retreats are limited to a small number of attendees, to allow for a more personable, intimate experience, our cancellation policy is in place to help guests and us alike work together sharing expenses that may arise from unexpected cancellations.

 

1. HOLD DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

2. Hold deposits (minus $100 USD re-listing fee) are transferable to another

attendee found and assigned by original attendee.

3. Full balance due 8 weeks before start date of retreat unless otherwise noted.

4. Cancellation requests submitted within 30 days of retreat date, 50% of total

amount (less deposit) will be refunded.

5. Within 14 days of your retreat: sorry but no refunds given, no exceptions.

6. Any refunds allowed will incur a 3% processing fee.

 

No one books a retreat with the intention of canceling it, but unexpected events do occur, so please consider purchasing travel insurance (see below) and that it is your responsibility to read and understand our cancellation policies. Exceptions cannot be made for any reason, including weather, injury/illness, or personal emergencies. No refunds or credits for failure to attend or failure to complete the retreat, or for arriving late or leaving early. We recommend that you purchase your own travel insurance. We encourage you to purchase trip cancellation insurance in order that your trip fees will be covered should you or your

family have a medical problem prior to your trip or while on the trip. Trip insurance should also be purchased to cover medical expenses in the event you have an accident or illness (including Covid19) while on the retreat.

Most travel insurance must be purchased within 14 days of making your reservation. We reserve the right to cancel retreats with inadequate participant interest, in which case all money paid to Blue Life Yoga retreat will be refunded. Notification of cancellation for this reason will occur at least 1 month prior to retreat start date. Our retreats cannot be held responsible for any personal expenses, such as airline tickets due to changes in itineraries or retreat cancellations.

 

COVID TRAVEL UPDATE

 

Please note that if the retreat has to be postponed based on border closures then a credit for a guests’ hold deposit will be issued to be used for the postponement date. If the retreat happens as scheduled, but a guest decides not to attend based on any other reason than a country´s border closure, then the regular cancellation policy (stated above) will be maintained. If travel around the world is still being disrupted as the retreat nears, the final balance due date will be postponed until a final decision is made at the 1-month mark before the start date.

 

DISCLAIMER

 

Blue Life Yoga and all persons involved in our retreat (herein after referred to as ¨AGENTS¨) act only in capacity as AGENTS for the participant in all matters connected with travel, sight-seeing journeys and transportation, and as AGENTS hold themselves free of responsibility for any damage occasioned by any cause. AGENTS will not be responsible for any damages or expenses or inconveniences caused by late departures or change of schedule, strikes or to their conditions, nor will be responsible for loss or damage to baggage or any of the participant´s belongings. All prices quoted are correct at time of printing, include the cost of operation of the journeys, and are subject to currency changes. AGENTS shall not be responsible for personal injury, death, accident, delay, loss, damage, irregularity or property damage as a result of force majeure or for any other losses or damages incurred by any person or journey participants caused by any delay or change of itinerary or arising out of any act, including, but not limited to, any act of negligence, any person acting for or on behalf of AGENTS for transportation, accommodation or sight-seeing provider or any other person or entity rendering any of these services or accommodations being offered in connection with this journey. This agreement supersedes all previous oral or written communications, representations, or agreements between the parties. Participants assume the risk involved when participating in yoga, foreign travel, and any and all activities and/or pursuits voluntarily undertaken while participating in the retreat. Participants agree that any and all disputes between Participants and Blue Life Yoga shall be governed by Costa Rican law. Participants agree to mediate any and all disputes prior to the institution of any litigation. In the event of any litigation between the Parties to this agreement involving their respective rights or obligations, such litigation shall take place in Costa Rica and the prevailing party shall be entitled to recovery of reasonable attorney´s fees and court costs of litigation.  In regard to the stay during the yoga retreat, AGENTS will provide safe, careful instruction and safe premises, but ask that each participant to take personal responsibility for their own self-care and (in the unlikely case) for any injuries incurred during retreat.

Modifications are given to participants with specific needs. If participants are unsure of their physical ability due to previous injuries, they should seek the advice of a healthcare practitioner beforehand.

 

 

CODE OF ETHICS

 

Thank you for choosing Blue Life Yoga in Santa Theresa Costa Rica. We are glad to be part of your journey. Guidelines We are designed for those interested in deepening their personal yoga and breathwork practice as well as growth and transformation. By participation in our retreat we encourage following the code of  ethics as described by us as inspired by The Yoga Alliance and is inherent in authentic practice of yoga itself. The Yoga Alliance Code of Conduct​: ​We have adopted our Code of Conduct to which applies to us and those in the breathwork community. We believe that it is our responsibility to ensure a safe and protected environment in which participants can grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. We believe we must aspire to and express the highest possible standards of conduct as set forth in our Code of Conduct. Our Code of Conduct embodies the yamas and niyamas of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali which are rules of ethical conduct that apply to all practitioners of yoga.

 

Financial Practices​: Our values are to be honest, straightforward, fair, and conscientious in conducting all of our business affairs. We will manage our business affairs according to recognized standard business and accounting practices. We will discuss all fees and financial arrangements in a straightforward professional manner.

 

Professional Growth/Continuing Education​: We maintain the integrity, competency, and high standards of the yoga and breathwork profession by continuously striving to improve our skills through keeping current in new developments in yoga and breathwork practice and by participating in continuing educational  programs.

 

Teacher/Participant Relationships​: We value treating our participants with respect. We will shall never force our own opinions but rather recognize that every individual is entitled to his or her worldview, ideas, and beliefs. However, as teachers of yoga and guides of breathwork,, we must communicate that the authentic practice of yoga and breathwork involves a transformation of the human personality, including attitudes and ideas. If an individual is not open to change or if their opinions seriously impede the process of receiving yoga and breathwork, then this retreat may not be for you. We encourage you to find your own greater inner freedom, peace, joy, and a childlike open mind curiosity to explore the new, the unknown, and be open and receptive to change and the wonderful possibility of experiencing miracles in your life. Integrity​: We shall commit to the highest standards of professional and personal conduct. We shall ensure that our behavior does not give even the appearance of professional impropriety. We are dedicated to studying, teaching, and promoting the art, science and philosophy of yoga and breathwork, and to maintaining high standards of professional competence and integrity.

 

Scope of Practice​: We shall represent their qualifications honestly and provide only the services we are qualified and certified to perform. We shall not give medical advice. We shall not recommend treatment, diagnose a condition, or suggest that a participant disregard medical advice. Teachers shall educated and coach as appropriate our expertise, but refer participants to medical doctors or complimentary licensed professionals when needed.

 

Confidential Information​: We shall keep all personal information disclosed by participants strictly confidential., and will not disclose such information unless it obtains the written consent of the participant. All discussions shall be conducted in secure, non-public environments. Inter-Professional Relationships​: We are part of a network of health care and well-being professionals and shall seek to develop interdisciplinary relationships. We shall seek to collaborate with other professionals to protect and enhance the wellbeing of the yoga and breathwork community and the public generally.

 

Advertising and Public Communication​: We shall accurately represent our professional qualifications, licenses and certifications along with any organizations. Announcements and brochures promoting classes or workshops shall describe them with accuracy and grace. These principles are designed to uphold the quality of our teachings and shall be in compliance with legal guidelines for appropriate representation of our services.

 

Yoga/Breathwork Equity​: We shall welcome all students regardless of age, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity and perceived gender expression), sexual orientation, color, race, national origin, marital status, parental status, veteran’s status, religion, or physical or mental disability, provided that we have appropriate expertise.

 

In addition I agree to the following:

A​ny photograph or audio/video footage taken by us during the retreat in discretion may be used for marketing and outreach by us for future programs on social media, our websites or in any other promotional literature whatsoever.

 

​Substance Use​:​ We are a sober living environment. Alcohol and all other intoxicants are prohibited on the premises. Violation of this policy at any time during the retreat will result in dismissal from the program with no refunds. Please be in communication with us if you are struggling with addiction of any kind, including drugs, alcohol, food addiction, behavioral addictions, or technology addiction. We are glad to help you find support.

 

​Personal Responsibility​: I fully understand that I am solely responsible for my health, safety, well-being and personal belongings while participating in all program activities. I agree that I will inform retreat leaders of any activity which I cannot perform safely, and that I will not perform any activity which I feel is likely to cause me to injure myself. I understand that there are risks associated with any physical exercise and activities in nature. I agree to hold Anne Margolis and Daniela Quesada of Blue Life Yoga harmless from any and all responsibility for any injury or loss of personal property that may arise during the retreat. I understand that my failure to comply with the above guidelines could result in my dismissal from the program and furthermore I understand that no refunds will be given should I fail to comply with the agreements listed above.

 

By signing up for the retreat, I agree with all provisions above.
